soft bosses

LEVEL 1 - fishing & farmland

Eve Elina is a free-spirited person in love with nature and anything that has not been touched by the human hand. She’s an orphan living by herself in a hippie way of life. She’s the youngest of all the Bosses and the friendliest, but can become frighteningly angry if anyone messes with nature. She’s a vegan and treats animals with more respect than people. Circulating rumours are that her parents died in an accident planned by Lechera (the Supreme Boss) during the First Uprisal. As what seems to be an act of “charity”, Lechera appointed her in this position, instructing her that she doesn't really need to behave as formally as the other Bosses, but that she needs to keep an eye on any wrongdoings where nature is involved. While there are no official reports of any other living member of the Elina family, there’s suspicion that she has a half-sister, the result of a short-lived affair of her father’s.​​

level 2 - industry

Marcus Destar comes from a family of wealthy and hard-working industrialists and is currently the manager of Destar Company Ltd. Born and raised to think like a businessman, trade and manufacture have eventually become his bread and butter. Due to his prodigal foresight and economical ways of producing goods, he has risen from a relatively obscure family name to a star in the industry. The company has improved greatly since he was appointed manager: there has been an increase in employment and delivery of goods has become quicker and more reliable than that of his competitors. At the height of his success, he catches the attention of Lechera and, needless to say, gets a huge promotion!  

level 3 - housing & property

Ralph Miller is a mild-mannered, very polite character coming from a family of blue-collar workers. While the mayor of Blue Leaf, the largest town in The District, he's also the co-owner of BL Company Ltd, a company specializing in the trade of housing & property. He’s far from Lechera’s hands but nonetheless has to abide to the Corporation’s Law about social behaviour in general. He’s friendly, rational and a motivator of people. Lechera promoted him to this current position since he can represent a good image for her with the population crowding the thousands of towns. Not that she really cares, but it's good to keep people happy and away from malign thoughts. 

level 4 - education

Chosen specifically by Lechera to manage all educational facilities, Sera Luna contributes to Nubis by providing educational means to students all over the country. Naturally all subjects are monitored by Lechera, and Sera pressures teachers to teach the “truth” of Nubis and that the Corporation is a “just” institution. She’s very polite and well-mannered. She is the perfect model of discipline, balanced with just the right touch of sweetness. In this way she keeps students on their toes without scaring them. Teachers and adults respect her while children adore her.  

level 5 - health

Milena Raki's responsibility is to take over all health departments under the unchangeable law that only citizens of Nubis - except the Slum region - can receive treatment without payment. Dr Raki is obsessed with health and purity and this drives her to extreme measures in her mission to keep everyone and everything as clean as possible. She hates applying makeup - or lots of it - for work or for any other event, due to her belief that true beauty doesn’t need any “artificial enforcer”. She adores children and spends as much time as she can with them. She dislikes Slum people with a passion. Otherwise, Dr Raki is usually very friendly, but she absolutely hates untidiness and unnecessary dirt.

level 6 - entertainment

Astra Demia loves fooling around and her life is dedicated to make people wonder. She’s very spontaneous, energetic and loves being the centre of attention. Every time she surprises people, she feels rewarded and does her best to keep everyone on edge, wondering what will come next. People love her and she might be considered the “light of hope” in a dread-filled country. Her performances are enjoyed by everyone, but sometimes she tends to go too far and ends up giving Lechera a sore eye. When the Corporation “suffers” due to her antics, Naize intervenes to restrain her.

level 7 - media

Considered the Mouth and Pet of Lechera, Naize Mosta is also by definition the second meanest shrew beneath her employer. Always looking impossibly sexy, she has enough charm to seduce the dead, hiding poisonous treachery that bides its time well enough to be highly effective. Her main job is to maintain Lechera’s image as a means of worship. Broadcasting in effect is limited; but Astra is given permission to offer joyful programs in small but regular doses. Her main attributes remain sexiness and seduction.​

level 8 - security

Always dressed right for the job, Raven Tykson is considered one of the top - and the most feared - personalities in Nubis. Responsible for providing security for the whole country, he’s under enormous pressure, but at the same time enjoys major privileges: he’s the only one that can give out a security-natured law without needing either Lechera’s or Mantel's consent and that can interrupt Lechera’s meetings without a foreword of warning. He’s known all around as being extreme on discipline and has an arrogant attitude that rivals none. He bears a bitter hatred towards Slum people and all their actions.​

level 9 - technology

Due to her unpredictable nature, Tenia Phoenix is always stepping on that fine red line between being an ally or an opponent to the Corporation. Nubis - being as ultra-modern as it is - naturally relies heavily on technology and this is where Tenia is considered “a cautious asset”. Lechera treats her with utmost respect, and even when Tenia unintentionally damages the Corporation with her actions, she corrects her in an uncharacteristically lenient manner. This angers Naize who sees Tenia as her equal under the beloved eyes of Lechera. This gives rise to an ever-present friction between Tenia and Naize. Deep down, they hate each other, as each of them has enough power to topple the other over, but can’t.​

level 10 - intelligence

Even more dangerous than Raven, Naize and Tenia put together, Erena has the power to manipulate minds. She’s feared by everyone, even by Raven himself, and her main entertainment is to control other people's thought processes. The only thing that holds her back from controlling Lechera as well is a special bond that exists between them: Lechera once saved her life, gave her a home and means to live. Having a mysterious and dark upbringing, Erena has always considered the mind a malleable object. Being mentally unstable herself, she is obsessed with driving people crazy, and she would be more at home in a closed room inside an asylum. However, Lechera sees in her an opportunity to spy on whoever she desires and therefore keeps her within sight at all times. 

level 11 - law

Always looking like he owns Nubis, Kevin Mantel is impeccable in both manners and fashion. He’s known for having legendary tastes in women, cars and property. Selected by Lechera to handle the Jurisdiction, she’s the only one above him. While he’s the Ultimate Law, she’s more powerful than the Law. He does his best to keep the equilibrium, even though this slides slightly in favor of crimes. Most people don’t trust him; however, there have been several cases in the past where he helped poor people without asking for money in return. Having roots originating from the District, as well as being second cousin to Miller, keeps him from receiving the status of complete contemptible.

level 12 - business

The undisputed Supreme Boss that owns and manages the Corporation is the closest thing to a government body Nubis will ever have. Lechera inherited the Corporation from her late father, who always dreamed big and achieved bigger. Ambition runs through her blood and she breathes money and power. Seeing the country as just a doormat on which she can wipe her feet, she favours determination and rejects losers harshly. She keeps a constantly watchful eye on Erena and Tenia, is doubtful about Astra and hates anyone that tries to confront her, especially Mantel when he sees her bending the law to her own discretion. She doesn't really love anyone with a beating heart but favours Naize and Raven over the other Bosses.
